About Alt Visions

Alt Visions is a creative outlet for designer Patrick Hill. This lab does produce websites, logos, and prints but these are seen more as the complementary result of its main focus on cultivating interesting and unique ideas into striking designs.

When it comes to web design, Alt Visions strives to craft clean, streamlined code which mirrors the functional undertones to the lab’s overall design style. Not all browsers are created equal, so whenever it’s possible, a process know as progressive enhancement is used to get the most out of the designs. This works by first making sure the sites work beautifully across all major browsers. Features in CSS 3 only available to modern web browsers such as Firefox, Chrome and Safari are then utilized for speed, usability, and visual enhancements.

I have an academic background in both Art & Design and Science. This gives me the capacity to let the creativity flow in the brainstorming and design development processes while also allowing the analytical thinking to take over when I’m writing code, processing data for information graphics, working out usability issues and other related processes.

I currently spend most my time designing for Red7e in Louisville, KY but when I’m not helping out there, I do my own work under the Alt Visions moniker. At the moment, I have availabilities for one to two projects in website or print design.

I have 4 years experience working in the professional design industry and would love the chance to share my skills.
