Bright Eyes – Louisville, KY

I finally got all the photos up. I really think some of these are the best I’ve ever taken and I hope someone else can enjoy them too. I took them at the June 7, 2011 Bright Eyes concert at the Iroquois Amphitheater in Louisville, Kentucky. By the way, it was absolutely one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. I would recommend turning on the latest album (or your favorite) as you look through.

Have fun.

Oh, and if you really like a photo, post a comment letting me know which one and I’ll send you a high resolution version of it (non commercial use, of course).

Woman by Jessica Bellamy

I stopped by a friend’s art show (hint Jessica Bellamy) today and got to experience an amazing body of work. It’s titled “Woman: An exploration of Cultural Matrices” and I think the last day of the show is May 27th. All I can say is go check it out if you haven’t had a chance to see it yet.

The Decemberists – Louisville Iroquois Amphitheater

These are some of the better photos I took at the April 26th Decemberists show which second time I’ve seen them. The show was great, although I don’t think it was as good as when I saw them play Hazards of Love at the Palace. This time they did play a lot more of my favorite songs than last time so that was good.

The show was at Iroquois Amphitheater which I had never been to before and was surprised to find out what a nice venue it was. Can’t wait to go back to it  for the Bright Eyes show later on this summer.

LGDA Event at Hound Dog Press

I went to a letterpress demonstration at Hound Dog Press in downtown Louisville the other night and had a great time. The event, put on by the Louisville Graphic Design Association, involved a bit of a history lesson on the letterpress craft, an introduction to the equipment and the process, and a hands-on demo by the co-owners/operators Nick Baute and Robert Ronk. I’ve actually known about Hound Dog Press for a while and have wanted to print some projects there but was a little intimidated because I didn’t have a clear idea of how letterpress worked and what kinds of pieces I could actually have produced. Needless to say, that apprehension is now gone and I can’t wait to have some of my designs run through the press. Below are some short videos I took at the event (shot and edited on my iPhone by the way).
