This logo was designed for Kentucky Wedding Decor, a company that rents beautiful lighting and other decorations. I decided to use a lantern for the mark in this design because that is the company’s most popular rental item. The colors and typeface add a soft elegance that work to further the wedding aesthetic. You can visit them at KentuckyWeddingDecor.com.

This logo was created for a local newspaper as a design exercise. I choose to bring together a strong serif typeface with a more modern looking font to try and combine the trusting, solid feelings that come from a good paper with the younger, more spirited culture of this new organization.

I’ve been thinking about redesigning the Kentucky Scenic logo for a while now as I’ve realized that there were a number of issues with the original mark. The main problem was its lack of versatility due mainly to the gradients and enclosure of type within the mark. The new design solves this and works in a much more elegant, simplistic manner.

I designed this logo for an upcoming website that is still under development. The website is going to focus on showcasing incredible shops from all over the world by allowing users to upload and share their retail destination discoveries. I wanted to go with a retro style because I felt the Swap A Shop name, by itself, had a 50′s era feel and rather than fight that, I wanted to utilize it to further strengthen the brand identity. The two rounded squares in the mark are meant to loosely represent shops and the overlap helps to reinforce the core trading aspect of the site. In the design process, I chose to give up some versatility in the logo by incorporating the detailed shopper but because it is only going to be used in the website format I was willing take the trade off in order to create what I felt was a more unique and memorable logo.

I designed this logo for a fictional company that builds prototypes for high tech companies. It was the result of a project from one of my design classes which had the stipulations that the logo must use pliers and be for a business in the technology industry. The logo was developed based on the concept that the company helps create and build new, “sprouting” technologies by constructing prototypes for cutting edge projects. This is illustrated through the combination of the pliers and sprouting leaves. I went for the lowercase sans-serif type because I felt it helped create a fresh, new, clean feeling which worked to support the company name, logo mark and the company’s work.
