Hijinks Social Application
Hijinks is a social application that helps you and your friends figure out what kind of trouble you want to get into for the night through a series of fun questions. I was responsible for the design and identity development of the application; the app is still in development.
I went with large clean type, large buttons, and an overall minimal design to make the app very easy to use. I still wanted to bring out some of the mischievous side of the app though so I added some light texture and darkened edges.
For the logo, I wanted to play up the social nature of the app by emphasizing the two i's and the j in the word, making them look like three people. This idea has been used by others before, most famously by Herb Lubalin, but I felt the subtle, unique use of it here and overall strength of the mark keeps it from being a cliche and allows it to stand solidly on its own.
