First Digital Painting
March 25th, 2009 by Patrick Hill
This piece is my first real attempt at digital painting and while it isn’t that great, I really liked the process of creating them. I used photoshop and mostly kept everything to a single layer to minimize photoshop edits and manipulations so that I could really work at developing my painting skills.
After trying to learn painting techniques for photoshop, I found that their are very few free and useful tutorials available on the web. Most of the videos I was able to find were just speed paintings set to some crappy techno music. Because of this, I am thinking about posting my own tutorials. They would of course be from the perspective of a beginner but I think that it could be very beneficial to others, especially beginners, to see the techniques that I am working on and learn with me. If anyone is thinks this might be a good idea, I’d love to hear from you.
